About Robin

Robin Karfo is an actor, writer, and coach with an extensive career spanning almost 50 years in television, theatre, and film. She is best known for her on-screen performances opposite Emmy- and Oscar-winning actors in such productions as Grey’s Anatomy, CSI: Cyber, NCIS, How to Get Away with Murder (opposite Viola Davis), and NYPD Blue. Additional on-screen credits include ER, Judging Amy, The Guardian (recurring), Crossing Jordan, Without a Trace, Criminal Minds, Dragnet, and The Bold and the Beautiful (recurring). Currently in post-production, Robin will next appear as the wedding planner Hil in a prominent supporting role in the comedy feature The Toast starring Jon Lovitz.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, Robin began her formal training at the High School for the Performing Arts, the inspiration behind the movie Fame. She later continued her education at NYU, honing her craft through a decade of work in Off-Broadway theatres, during which time she collaborated with renowned artists like Tom O'Horgan at La Mama Experimental Theatre Club and Douglas Hughes at The Manhattan Theatre Club. She also worked with Ruth Malezchek of Mabou Mines, performing on film in Wrong Guys, produced by The Public Theatre. To refine her skills further, Robin studied under the guidance of the late Suzanne Shepherd and Julie Bovasso, both remembered as prominent actresses, teachers, and directors in New York.

Since relocating to California, Robin has performed at notable theatres, including The Magic Theatre, Berkeley Repertory Theatre, Marin Theatre Company, the San Francisco Mime Troupe and The Actor’s Gang, Tim Robbins’ theatre company. As a writer, her solo piece Cages was produced in San Francisco by Intersection for the Arts and BRAVA! For Women in the Arts, enjoying a successful run and earning a nomination for “Best Original Script” by the Bay Area Critics Circle. Robin is also credited as a co-writer of the Hallmark romcom A Brush with Love.
